Our Story
Hi, we are Andy & Jill Fimbel, a husband-and-wife woodworking artisan team from a small town in Southern New Hampshire. Creating art together.
We specialize in everything from cutting boards, butcher blocks, chopsticks, & furniture—to upcycled jewelry, earrings, wooden rings, chopsticks, & hair-forks — to paintings, prints, stickers, magnets, and more!
Thanks for visiting our new website.
Through every step of our journey, we've focused on having fun and making quality products.
We met in school, at age 15 & 16, and were close friends throughout high school. Later, at age 19 & 20, we started dating and have been together ever since.
In 2012 we built our home in Southern NH and over time added a workshop for our hobbies. (And later, added an addition to the workshop for more hobbies).
The Rustic Seed was technically born in 2015, but it wasn’t until 2020 (during the global pandemic shut down, of course) that we upgraded from just local craft fairs and making product mostly for family and friends. We then expanded to 5 local stores and selling online with Etsy.
Soon that pace became too demanding and we were losing the FUN that got us started. (Because we both have our own careers; separate companies that we own/operate as our main jobs).
We had 52 amazing sales on Esty, and all 5-star reviews, before we closed our shop because it became too saturated with global sellers and products. It didn’t have the local feel or “maker’s space” vibe anymore.
We currently sell products in two local NH stores (Milford & Amherst) and are creating inventory that works for our busy lives.
Now, in 2026, we’ve created our very own online store here and are excited to share our many products with you.

Our kiddos
Both our kids have grown up in the shop, around tools, lumber yards, and lots of saw dust and art supplies.
They are much older than this now… but isn’t this picture cute?!
Currently, they love making art in many forms: Digital animation, carboard dragon puppets, drawing & painting, cosplay costumes, and Kandi-beaded bracelets.

Our pups
Brick and Ronnie are our cairn terrier dogs. They are usually living their best life in the wooded backyard and rarely enjoy the loud woodworking noises in the shop.
Fun fact: Ronnie’s full name is Ron Burgandy (from the movie Anchorman) and Brick is named after it, too. It all started with the late, great Baxter who was also a cairn terrier. (2011-2026)

Featured on WMUR’s NH Chronicles Segment
In 2021, just after opening our wellness center in Amherst, we were approached by our local new station, WMUR, to do a story about our art and how it connects with mental health. Yes, please! Jill grew up watching NH Chronicles segments, and it was a dream-come-true and honor for us to be featured. After about 4 hours of fun filming— Check out our 6 min clip about both The Rustic Seed and The Wellness Seed!
